Driving is a very good means of transportation in Old University. Nearby highways are easy to access from any location in this part of Guelph, and it is especially convenient to find a parking spot. On the other hand, public transit riders may have few options in Old University due to the low service level. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the city, despite the fact that many daily needs are convenient to carry out by walking.
