Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, East York is a former municipality within Toronto, Ontario.


East York will please home buyers that value a variety of means of transportation. With Woodbine Station with access to the Bloor - Danforth Line, and about 20 nearby bus lines, the public transit network in this part of the city is very good. East York is also well-suited for those who travel by foot; many common errands can be run without the use of a car, and plenty of businesses are nearby. This part of the city is quite bicycling-friendly as East York features a fairly good cycling infrastructure.


Both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a short walk from most houses for sale in this part of the city. Likewise, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. Concerning education, schools and daycares are very easy to walk to from anywhere in East York.


The character of East York is exemplified by its calm environment. Greenery is quite present in this area; it is very easy to reach parks in the former municipality since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to enjoy. Moreover, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for a large number of streets is good. This former municipality is also quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be problematic closer to Don Valley Parkway or one of the railway lines.
