Welcome to “The House That Winks”! There is so much character and history to this stunning home… you could write a book on it. In fact, someone did! The nickname for the house comes from Ira White who was the original builder in 1927 – referring to the asymmetrical gables on the front of the home making it uniquely memorable. Keeping tradition in mind while modernizing a time-honored design, the home was renovated in 1984 by Richard Lindseth Architects in collaboration with the current owner. Meticulous detailing echoing the original architecture, transformed the home from a 900 ft2 bungalow to a 2115 ft2 2 storey masterpiece. Period detailing on the interior architecture has been reproduced wherever possible. There have been numerous renovations over the years, culminating in a fresh new design and a rebuild of the entire home in 2000. The well thought out individual spaces, with the high ceilings and all of its heritage detailing, bring a sense of ease and fluidity that can be hard to find in many of today’s homes.
